Position Summary
The Financial Counselor position at Lakeland Regional Health requires fundamental knowledge of the hospital's collection and financial policies, as well as other financial assistance options. The role involves understanding and managing the entire process from registration to billing.

- Knowledge of medical insurance (Medicare, HMO, PPO, Commercial), hospital billing and collection process.
- Professional customer service skills.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, PPO and Commercial guidelines.
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Excellent written skills and knowledge of FPL guidelines.
Qualifications & Experience
- High School or Equivalent.
- 2 years general patient accounting experience.
- Knowledge of Accounting Principles; analytical mathematical skills (preferred).
- 4 years general patient accounting experience (preferred).
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, PPO and Commercial guidelines.
- Working knowledge of Word, Excel and other Microsoft applications (preferred).
- AAHAM or HRMA certification (preferred).
