Financial Counselor
Valle Vista Health System is a 132-bed, acute care behavioral health hospital located in Greenwood, IN, just minutes south of Indianapolis. The facility features individual units for children, adolescents, adults, and seniors, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs.
Responsibilities
- Financial assessment of patients, determination of ability to pay, collection of deposits
- Negotiation of payment arrangements and securing financing of self-pay liability
- Identification of funding sources
- Tracking, monitoring, and reporting requirements
- Other duties as needed
This is a non-exempt position.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Two years prior admissions and/or collections experience in a health care setting required; psychiatric experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal skills; ability to deal effectively with all levels of hospital management and the public
- Average to high math skills
- Prior experience with online Admission/Billing systems desirable
- Must be at least 21 years old
- May be required to work flexible hours and occasional overtime
