Duties And Responsibilities
- Work closely with management to develop and plan monthly financial workshops both in-person and virtually focused on budgeting, credit scores, debt reduction strategies, etc.
- Work closely with financial institutions to leverage resources and to facilitate workshops as needed for residents.
- Prepare one-on-one lessons for residents who are in debt and provide them with actionable strategies to reduce current debt
- Conduct outreach with the Resident Ambassador by contacting residents with significant rent arrears
- Prepare tasks for residents to complete prior to one-on-one sessions
- Foster and maintain strong relationships with residents and offer a safe space for them
- Be familiar with technology-related banking tools and apps
- Use Salesforce to track residents’ progress and follow-ups
- Be familiar and open with working with people of different cultures and backgrounds
- Maintain safe and healthy training environments by following organizational standards
- Perform other related tasks deemed necessary by the agency
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, economics, or a business-related field
- Bilingual preferred (Spanish-speaking)
- 1-3 years of experience with financial counseling experience working with individuals of various backgrounds, including low-income communities, immigrants, etc.
