Duties And Responsibilities

  • Work closely with management to develop and plan monthly financial workshops both in-person and virtually focused on budgeting, credit scores, debt reduction strategies, etc.
  • Work closely with financial institutions to leverage resources and to facilitate workshops as needed for residents.
  • Prepare one-on-one lessons for residents who are in debt and provide them with actionable strategies to reduce current debt
  • Conduct outreach with the Resident Ambassador by contacting residents with significant rent arrears
  • Prepare tasks for residents to complete prior to one-on-one sessions
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with residents and offer a safe space for them
  • Be familiar with technology-related banking tools and apps
  • Use Salesforce to track residents’ progress and follow-ups
  • Be familiar and open with working with people of different cultures and backgrounds
  • Maintain safe and healthy training environments by following organizational standards
  • Perform other related tasks deemed necessary by the agency

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in finance, economics, or a business-related field
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish-speaking)
  • 1-3 years of experience with financial counseling experience working with individuals of various backgrounds, including low-income communities, immigrants, etc.
