Financial Consultant with Security Clearance

Summary

The role is seeking an accountant to support Internal Use Software (IUS) remediation efforts. Key responsibilities include:

• Development of accounting policy
• Design of sustainable business processes
• Implementation of valuation and control frameworks

Requirements

• DOD Full Secret clearance
• Working knowledge or recent experience with financial reporting and remediation of GPP&E accounting, preferably IUS accounting
• Experience developing or enhancing accounting policies, standard operating procedures, and process documentation
• Experience designing and implementing valuation controls, including data quality controls, review controls, and governance over source data used in accounting determinations
• Ability to develop go-forward valuation methodologies and support consistent application across in-scope software assets
• Ability to work collaboratively with accounting, IT, system owners, and program stakeholders to translate technical accounting requirements into sustainable business processes
• Experience supporting audit readiness, including preparation of documentation, support for walkthroughs, and response to auditor requests
• Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to present complex accounting matters clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proficiency in Excel and experience working with large or incomplete datasets to support accounting analysis and control validation

Qualifications

• Knowledge of SFFAS 10 and its application to internal use software capitalization, valuation, amortization, and reporting (desired)
