Financial Consultant ll
Provides in-person and virtual counseling for participants, new entrants, prospects, beneficiaries, and their legal and financial representatives on the full spectrum of TIAA products and services. Covers institutions aligned to regional structures and offers financial planning advice via in-person, phone, and video chat to help clients achieve their immediate and long-term financial goals.
During your initial period of employment, you will receive training on TIAA's products. This role is non-exempt during training, meaning you will be paid on an hourly basis and eligible for overtime. After the training period, the role becomes exempt, and you will be paid a salary (weekly salary equals your hourly rate multiplied by 40) with no eligibility for overtime. All required licenses must be obtained within 120 days from your start date.
Responsibilities
- Counsels participants on pension plans, tax-deferred annuities, and other investment options to help clients retain and increase assets.
- Educates, recommends, and facilitates new product purchases (including retail mutual funds, annuities, IRAs, 529 and 403b plans, bank products, life insurance, and others) and provides authoritative information for personal financial planning decisions.
- Interacts with retirement plan participants to deliver exceptional customer service and execute transaction and service requests.
- Uses knowledge of tax and investment strategies to tailor financial advice based on clients' financial needs and objectives.
- Communicates internally with cross-business partnerships to develop and implement TIAA products and services supporting clients and company initiatives.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with Institutional Plan Sponsors.
Requirements
- University degree preferred.
- 3+ years of work experience required; 5+ years preferred.
- FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses required within 120 days of start date.
- Life and Health Insurance License (Resident State) required within 120 days of start date.

Pay
Base pay range: $72,700/yr – $95,500/yr. Actual base salary may vary based on relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. The compensation package may also include participation in an incentive program linked to performance.
