Responsibilities

• Contact patients or their designees to collect accurate coverage information.
• Use integrated health information systems and telephone technology with customer service skills to facilitate interactions, ensuring a seamless and coordinated experience for patients.
• Perform accurate searches for patients in the EPIC database to reduce duplicate records.
• Assess patients’ financial ability to pay for services and refer them to financial counseling staff when appropriate.
• Send eligibility requests to all payors to verify accurate and current coverage.
• Maintain excellent working relationships with medical staff, referring physicians, and their designees.
• Display the highest level of customer service, attentiveness, and consideration while adhering to confidentiality standards set by the Office of Compliance and HIPAA.
• Alert management of problems with systems and workflow.
• Create estimates, provide patients with financial liability education, and collect copayments and deposits as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience in insurance, healthcare, or a related field.
• Excellent customer service skills with enthusiasm and compassion.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations.
• Strong attention to detail, professionalism, promptness, and cooperativeness with physicians, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Ability to escalate issues when necessary.
• Experience with PC applications, including MS Office and Internet.
• Ability to maintain employer training requirements.

Pay

USD $16.59 - USD $24.89 per hour.
