Job Summary

We are seeking a Financial Care Counselor to provide financial navigation and patient access support for international, executive, VIP, and high-profile patient populations. Serve as a trusted resource to patients, families, sponsors, embassies, insurers, and clinical teams by facilitating financial clearance, authorization, registration, and payment processes while delivering an exceptional service experience.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • Coordinate financial clearance, insurance verification, sponsorship review, and authorization activities to ensure timely access to care.
  • Guide patients and families through registration, financial counseling, payment arrangements, and hospital billing processes with professionalism and empathy.
  • Manage complex domestic and international payment arrangements, including self-pay, sponsored, managed care, and governmental funding sources.
  • Ensure accurate patient demographic, financial, sponsorship, and insurance information is maintained within electronic systems.
  • Deliver a highly personalized, concierge-level experience for high-profile and international patients while maintaining discretion and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity when supporting patients and families from diverse linguistic, cultural, and geographic backgrounds.
  • Apply critical thinking and innovative problem-solving to address unique financial, access, and care coordination challenges that may arise during the patient's healthcare journey.
  • Examine insurance policies and other third party sponsorship materials for sources of payment.
  • Explain policies and procedures, and resolves problems.

Job Eligibility Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Work requires knowledge of basic grammar and mathematical principles normally required through a high school education, with some postsecondary education preferred.
  • Additional training or working knowledge of related business.
  • Two years experience working in hospital service access, clinical service access, physician office or billing and collections.
  • Or, an Associate's degree in a healthcare related field and one year of experience working with the public.
  • Or, a Bachelor's degree and one year of experience working with the public.

Job Hours

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday–Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
