Job Description

The Financial Associate II reports to the Director Financial Operations and performs complex accounting tasks and control functions that support the maintenance of the books and records of OEE. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing complex accounting journals independently, including preparation, review, and approval to support the maintenance of the General Ledger (GL), including revenue recognition through Salesforce for B2C and B2B, monthly adjustments, PCR payroll adjustments, and accruals.

  • Leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

  • Managing the balance sheet by analyzing, reconciling, and resolving issues in a timely manner.

  • Managing follow-ups and reviews of any GL-related inquiries by staff or central offices.

  • Preparing, reviewing, and approving B2P vendor payments and reimbursements, monitoring and resolving discrepancies or issues with vendors and faculty payments, and maintaining vendor and faculty relationships.

  • Managing the Accounts Receivable process, including billing, communications, collections, and customer management. Collaborating with internal teams to resolve customer billing disputes or other unique issues.

  • Reviewing and approving departmental p-card transactions.

  • Supporting day-to-day financial operations, including process improvement initiatives and system implementation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Preparing and assisting with management and development of reporting, varying in complexity.

  • Aiding in the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial policies and procedures.

  • Collaborating effectively with the Financial Planning and Analysis department to expand knowledge on budget and reporting processes and align financial operations to support organizational objectives.

  • Ensuring compliance with OEE/HMS/HU financial operations policies.

  • Providing coverage of tasks for other Financial Operations team members as needed.

Qualifications

  • Basic Qualifications: 5 or more years of experience in accounting, finance, or related field. Higher education may count towards experience.

  • Additional Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred. Strong understanding of financial systems and accounting procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Office suite applications. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver exceptional customer service. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Experience building effective, efficient systems and documenting business practices/standard operating procedures. Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion. Ability to work independently or collaboratively with minimal supervision.

  • Standard Hours/Schedule: 40 hrs. per week | Monday - Friday | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
