Financial Analyst, Strategic Finance
We are looking for an analyst to join the team and become the analytical engine behind one of our business areas. You will work closely with a senior member of the team, build the models and reporting that our business partners rely on, and get exposure to functional leaders and the executive team far earlier than you would at a larger company. You will be assigned to one of our areas based on your strengths and where the business needs the most support. Strategic Finance is the finance business partnering team at NinjaOne—a small, high-leverage group that works directly with the leaders of our largest functions on decisions that matter: how fast to grow, where to invest, what a plan should look like, and whether it is working.
About the role
We are organized around three areas: go-to-market finance, corporate finance, and functional business partnering across the business. As the company continues to scale, we are adding two people to the team. This is a small team, so you will own real scope early and your work will be seen by the executive team.
Location: Remote within the USA (CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IL, KS, ME, MA, MD, NJ, NC, NY, OH, OR, TN, TX, VA, or WA). Open to occasional travel for team and company onsites.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain the models that drive planning for your area, including headcount, capacity, and spend.
- Own recurring reporting and monthly variance analysis and write the first draft of the story behind the numbers.
- Partner with the business on spend tracking and review, and flag what looks off before someone else finds it.
- Build the metrics and dashboards that tell us whether a function is getting more efficient.
- Take on ad hoc analysis for the executive team, which at a company this size happens often.
- Other duties as needed.
Requirements
- Roughly 1 to 3 years in FP&A, business finance, consulting, banking, data analysis, or a comparable analytical role.
- Strong Excel and financial fundamentals, and the instinct to sanity check your own output.
- Clear written communication—you will be explaining numbers to people who do not work in finance.
- High slope: we are hiring for where you will be in two years as much as where you are today.
- A working style built around automating the repeatable parts of the job.
- Familiarity with AI tools, BI tools, or SQL is a plus.
- Meaningful overlap with Pacific time (our team is on the West Coast).
