About the role

The Real Estate Valuation and Advisory Services (REVS) team at Houlihan Lokey is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our dynamic team in Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, or New York. This role offers substantial responsibility and interaction with senior-level professionals, working on high-profile real estate transactions.

Responsibilities & Deliverables

  • Review and analyze complex real estate models
  • Conduct market and financial research regarding real estate supply, demand, pricing, and investment parameters
  • Collaborate with other analysts, associates, and officers on valuation and advisory work
  • Collect, manipulate, and analyze property, market, and financial data
  • Analyze historic property operating statements and lease agreements
  • Prepare complex cash flow models using Excel and ARGUS software
  • Estimate value of real estate investments at various levels of the capital stack
  • Prepare reports and presentations to team and clients
  • Aid in marketing pitches, real estate thought leadership articles, and other ad-hoc duties

Basic Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of real estate industry experience, with a preference towards direct real estate valuation experience
  • A strong interest in real estate advisory work
  • Undergraduate coursework in real estate finance, real estate valuation, or related fields
  • Strong analytical abilities
  • Proficiency with Excel (modeling skills, writing macros, etc.) and PowerPoint
  • Experience in ARGUS is strongly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Possession of or progress towards real estate industry certification licenses, such as MAI, CCIM, certified general real estate appraiser
  • CPA, CFA, or other financial credential
  • Willingness to travel

Compensation And Benefits

Houlihan Lokey offers a competitive total compensation package, including a good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible salary range for this role at the time of posting being $85,000 - $105,000. Actual salary at the time of hire may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant qualifications, skills, and experience, as well as the service line and location where this position may be filled.
