About the Role
The Financial Analyst Intern will provide support to the Finance Department by assisting with and completing various financial analyses, projects, and reports and other finance duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial analyses and reports.
- Support the development of forecasts, budgets, and strategic plans.
- Reconcile departmental budgets and investigate variances to ensure accuracy.
- Conduct benchmarking and comparative analysis using peer and macroeconomic data.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and complete ad-hoc financial projects.
Requirements
- Enrolled in a university throughout the length of the internship, pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Business majoring in Finance, Accounting, or Economics.
- Must have completed or be currently enrolled in courses related to understanding Finance and Accounting.
- Must be bondable.
- Demonstrated understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and basic knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.
- All applicants must include a resume, cover letter, transcript and their anticipated graduation date when applying.
- If selected for the internship, must be enrolled at a university or technical college throughout the length of the internship.
- Must be able to work onsite at the Royal Credit Union Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI, throughout the school year and during breaks.
- Must be able to commit to the internship for its intended duration (January 2027 through May 2028).
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of financial products/services.
Schedule
- Working approximately 15–20 hours per week during the school year and 30–40 hours per week during the summer.
- Generally working variable hours between 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday based on class schedule.
- This is a limited term, non-benefit-eligible position.
Pay
- $17.85-19.98 per hour (candidates with significant related experience may be higher).
Training
- New Royal team members must attend Foundation Training at the Corporate Center in Eau Claire, WI from 9:00am - 4:30pm on Monday and Tuesday during their first week of employment.
- Out of town learners will be reimbursed costs related to travel and lodging.
- Foundation Training covers fundamental information about Royal's culture and core values.
