About the role
This position reports to the Manager of Finance and assists with the monthly financial statement close process and issuance of financial statements, including capturing and reporting monthly financial data, statistics, and other financial indicators. Responsibilities include maintenance of specific entity financial accounts with reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts, budget preparation tasks as needed, and serving as a liaison between Finance staff and the external financial audit team during interim and final audits. The role acts as a resource to coworkers within and outside the Finance department and performs other specific projects or duties as necessary.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the monthly financial statement close process and issuance of financial statements.
- Capture and report monthly financial data, statistics, and other financial indicators.
- Maintain specific entity financial accounts, including reconciliations of balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Assist with budget preparation tasks as needed.
- Serve as a liaison between Finance staff and the external financial audit team during interim and final audits.
- Act as a resource to coworkers within and outside the Finance department.
- Perform other specific projects or duties as necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Two years of accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare-related setting.
- High proficiency in general ledger and PC applications, including Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills, analytical abilities, and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and work independently on assigned tasks.
- Ability to work with and preserve confidential information.
- Self-review skills with the ability to identify and correct errors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- CPA certification is a plus.
- Three to five years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Lawson skills highly preferred.
- Experience in the preparation of consolidating financial statements, including consolidating and eliminating entries.
