Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and technical assistance in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Measure organizational performance; assess the effects of various programs and policies on the budget.
  • Examine budget estimates or proposals for completeness, accuracy, and conformance with established procedures, regulations, and organizational objectives.
  • Employ cost-benefit analysis to review financial requests, assess program tradeoffs, and explore alternative funding methods.
  • Examine past and current budgets and research economic and financial developments that affect the organization’s spending.
  • Develop guidelines and policies governing the formulation and maintenance of budgets.
  • Conduct training sessions for company or government agency personnel regarding new budget procedures.
  • Cook up financial activities across various stakeholders.
  • Manage finances across multiple funding types.
  • Track budgets, costs, and variances.
  • Produce executive summaries.
  • Conduct financial reporting and analyses on financial issues and customer requirements.
  • Develop and propose courses of actions (COAs) and recommendations for financial issues.
  • Interpret and apply financial management principles.
  • Apply financial management processes, techniques, policies, regulations and organizational strategic goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting. For an IV, a Master's Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.
  • Experience: Depending on the YOE below:
    • For a I, 0 YOE required.
    • For a II, 3 YOE required.
    • For a III, 7 YOE required.
    • For a IV, 10 YOE required.
