Position Overview

The Financial Analyst I is responsible for calculating and administering physician compensation, including base salary, stipends, incentive payments, and special administrative or clinical payments, while ensuring compliance with employment agreements. This role supports provider payroll processing, prepares compensation-related journal entries, analyzes provider productivity and compensation data, and investigates reporting discrepancies. The position also assists with financial reporting, special projects, and departmental initiatives within the Physician Finance Department. Reporting to the Manager of Physician Finance and the Senior Director of Physician Finance and Acute Care, the Financial Analyst I plays a key role in supporting accurate physician compensation, payroll operations, and financial analysis. This position is an on-site position. There is not a remote option.

Core Responsibilities

  • Calculate physician provider compensation, including: Base salary, Stipends, Incentive payments, Administrative and clinical special payments
  • Ensure compensation complies with employment contracts.
  • Prepare provider compensation journal entries.
  • Submit provider payroll data accurately on a bi-weekly basis.
  • Analyze provider productivity and compensation reports.
  • Work with Operations to resolve reporting discrepancies.
  • Assist with special projects and other departmental initiatives.
  • Work on-site (remote work not available).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • 1–3 years of relevant finance, accounting, payroll, or compensation experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Technical Skills

  • Advanced Excel: Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Data analysis and reporting.
  • Epic Reporting: Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboards, Slicer, Dicer, Clarity/Caboodle, Heisenberg 2 experience.
