Financial Analyst
About the Organization
A growing and mission-driven nonprofit organization is seeking a Financial Analyst to support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), this role partners closely with Accounting, Project Accounting, and Program leadership to deliver financial insights, improve reporting processes, and support organizational growth.
About the Role
The Financial Analyst plays a key role in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budget management, forecasting, and reporting. This position is responsible for analyzing financial performance, developing financial models, supporting grant and program budgets, and creating data-driven reports that help leadership make informed business decisions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or financial planning within an organization with annual revenue of at least $25 million.
- Experience working with financial reporting and enterprise financial systems.
- Experience with Workday Financial Management is preferred.
- Experience in nonprofit or mission-driven organizations is an advantage.
- Familiarity with restricted and unrestricted nonprofit funding is a plus.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Support the preparation and coordination of the organization's annual operating budget.
- Aid in financial forecasting, long-range planning, and periodic reforecasting.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports, including budget-to-actual analysis and variance reporting.
- Analyze revenue, expenses, and program financial performance to identify trends and business opportunities.
- Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Partner with Program Managers to monitor project and grant budgets.
- Review program expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgets and financial policies.
- Support grant and contract financial reporting in collaboration with the Project Accounting team.
- Develop and maintain financial dashboards, reporting tools, and analytical models.
- Collaborate with the Accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and general ledger alignment.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automation, and data quality.
- Prepare financial presentations and supporting materials for executive leadership and board meetings.
