Financial Analyst
Position Summary
Terrible Herbst, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Analyst to support business decision-making across our retail fuel, convenience store, and car wash operations. This role will be responsible for financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to drive operational efficiency and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-range planning
Analyze monthly financial performance and variances against budget and prior periods
Prepare recurring financial reports and dashboards for leadership
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) including fuel margins, in-store sales, and car wash revenue
Evaluate store-level profitability and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
Partner with operations to improve financial outcomes and cost efficiencies
Build and maintain financial models to support business initiatives and capital investment decisions
Consolidate and analyze large data sets from multiple systems (POS, fuel systems, ERP)
Develop automated reporting tools and improve reporting accuracy and timeliness
Assist in evaluating new store locations, remodels, and capital projects
Conduct ad hoc analyses to support strategic initiatives and executive decision-making
Support pricing, promotions, and cost analysis across product categories
Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data
Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and FP&A processes
Support finance team initiatives and cross-functional projects
Qualifications
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or accounting (retail, fuel, or multi-location experience preferred)
Skills & Competencies: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling); Experience with ERP systems and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred; Excellent communication skills with ability to present financial insights to non-finance stakeholders; High attention to detail and strong organizational skills; Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in retail, convenience store, fuel, or hospitality industries; Knowledge of margin analysis, inventory control, and unit-level economics; Familiarity with SQL or data analysis tools
Work Environment
Corporate office setting in Las Vegas, NV; Occasional travel to store locations may be required
