About the role
Disney Entertainment & ESPN Product & Technology (DEEP&T) is a fast-paced and evolving organization shaping the future of how audiences experience entertainment and sports around the world. This position is based in New York, NY and reports to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis for DE&E Product & Technology.
Responsibilities
- Buils, maintains, and improves financial models for forecasting and analysis of technology expenses
- Prepare forecasts, annual operating plan (AOP), long-range plan (LRP), as directed by Segment and Corporate FP&A. Includes preparation of variance analysis and accompanying leadership presentations.
- Tracks invoices and contractual obligations, reconciles general ledger data, and manages accrual and reclass processes during quarterly financial close; partners with Accounting on actualizing P&Ls.
- Prepares ad-hoc reports, special projects, and presentations for various internal stakeholders including Technology, Product, and Business Operations
- Pairs with Technology and Product teams on a daily basis to inform financial deliverables
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math, Statistics, Computer Science or a scientific field
- 0-2 years of FP&A or other relevant work experience required, preferably in technology and/or media
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly collaborative with strong problem solving, interpersonal and project management skills
- Attention to detail, desire for accuracy, and a strong sense of urgency
- Ability to quickly learn new concepts and navigate new systems/databases
- Intellectually curious with a desire to understand the business beyond the scope of day-to-day responsibilities
Education
- Preferred: Related work experience in FP&A or public accounting
- Experience working cross-functionally with individuals outside of Finance and Accounting
- Experience using SAP, Cognos TM1, Hyperion or other enterprise financial systems
- Experience using data analytics tools such as Alteryx, Power Query, and SQL
Pay
The hiring range for this role in New York City, NY is $91,300 - $111,500 per year.
