Financial Analyst

Essential Functions
- Ability to critically analyze financial statements, accounting records, tax returns, bank statements, and other financial documents
- Ability to analyze and research broad market sectors and write industry summaries
- Understanding of financial documents used in day-to-day business operations and transactions
- Intermediate understanding of financial theory and general accounting issues
- Demonstrated financial modeling experience
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Ability to work with changing client-imposed and multiple deadlines
- Development of detailed financial models
- Review, organize and analyze case specific documents
- Preparing detailed schedules and analyses supporting expert opinions
- Absorbing and critiquing alternative arguments/opinions
- Reviewing and analyzing opposing expert reports and calculations
- Performing quality control of our calculations, reports and other work products
- Performing economic, industry, and other research as needed
- Identifying patterns and relationships in large data sets through a combination of analysis and research
- Participating in meetings and phone calls with counsel and client personnel
Requirements
- 4-year undergraduate degree with a concentration in economics or finance required, MBA or MS in economics or finance preferred
- Designation or pursuit of designation preferred (CPA, CFA, ASA, CVA, CFE, etc.)
- 1-2 years of related experience preferred, including strong background in business valuation, corporate finance, or litigation support
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Team player and professional presence
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Significant attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Physical Requirements
- The ability to sit at a desk up to 80% of the time
- The ability to stand and walk up to 20% of the time
- The ability to be confined in a small area, such as a cubicle
- The ability to operate phones and computers
