About the role
As a Financial Aid Student Advisor at Unitek Learning, you will play a crucial role in guiding students through the financial aid process. Reporting directly to the Director of Financial Aid, you will be responsible for processing awards, managing defaults, and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities
- Processing state and federal aid to eligible students according to regulations and policy
- Counsels students and parents
- Provides estimates and packaging information
- Manages default management and financial literacy programs
- Audits and runs reports to ensure work integrity
- Interacts with other departments to assist students
- Maintains up-to-date information on new federal regulations
- Affords assistance with private loans and VA benefits
- Performs regular, in-person attendance up to 5 days per week on campus/on site
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- 2+ years of Financial Aid experience
- Campus VUE experience preferred
- Computer knowledge is recommended, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Excellent customer service and organizational skills
- Attention to detail with the capability to multi-task
