Financial Aid Analyst/Specialist
Responsibilities
- Evaluate student financial aid files, confirm supporting documents, and process materials accurately and on schedule.
- Aid in appeal workflows, including satisfactory academic progress reviews, ensuring each case is documented appropriately.
- Update and maintain student records with a high degree of accuracy while adhering to institutional, state, and federal requirements.
- Support aid packaging, revisions, and other award-related activities based on eligibility and documentation status.
- Address questions from students and staff regarding aid eligibility, application status, missing items, and next steps.
- Track deadlines, identify incomplete files, and follow up to help move applications and reviews to completion.
- Contribute to project-based assignments during high-volume periods, audit preparation, or efforts to reduce processing backlogs.
- Protect sensitive student information and uphold confidentiality standards across all financial aid activities.
Requirements
- 1–3 years of experience working in financial aid administration or a closely related student services environment.
- Working knowledge of financial aid regulations, operational policies, and document processing practices.
- Prior exposure to appeal review processes, including satisfactory academic progress cases, is strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with careful attention to detail and accuracy in record management.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a project-driven work setting.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with students and internal stakeholders.
- Proficiency with student information systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining a high standard of service.
