Responsibilities

  • Provide students and families with specific, clear, and accurate information regarding the financial aid process, each type of aid, and additional available resources.
  • Review Financial Aid Policies with respect to enrollment and receipt of financial aid at Hondros College of Nursing, including but not limited to the College's Institutional Refund Policy, Cost of Attendance, the requirements for the treatment of Title IV, HEA Program Funds when related to withdraw (as prescribed under 34 C.F.R. 668.22), Satisfactory Academic Progress, Professional Judgement, and other aid altering occurrences.
  • Advise students that Grants and Scholarships, provided by Federal, State, or third-party sources, are the most beneficial types of financial assistance available.
  • Aid the College’s Third-Party Aid Processor, Global Financial Services, with resolving conflicting applicant information, verification related requirements, unusual enrollment history, applicant identity verification, etc. This includes maintaining and updating student financial aid records using institutional aid processing systems and federal aid processing systems.
  • Create and deliver student payment plans.
  • Create and deliver Truth-In-Lending Act information to students.
  • Maintain and monitor student accounts to ensure timely payment of tuition and fees.
  • Aid students with loan repayment options.
  • Communicate with external agencies to coordinate financial aid services.
  • Collect and maintain student business office documents.
  • Collaborate with Campus Leadership on Financial Readiness of students to begin and maintain enrollment.
  • Adhere to and maintain the College’s Bursar’s Policies and Procedures, along with documentation and best practices.

Requirements

  • Two years Finance, Regulatory, Higher Education experience or equivalent education and experience required.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of office procedures and equipment.
  • Knowledge of computers and appropriate software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact diplomatically with a variety of individuals at various organizational levels.
  • Ability to identify moderately complex administrative issues and problems and resolve or escalate to appropriate individual.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of basic budgeting procedures.
  • Aptitude for accuracy and detail.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work on simultaneous projects at once.
