We are seeking a Financial Aid Advisor to work with prospective and current students and their families, guiding them through the financial aid application process for federal, state, and other assistance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students and parents in applying for Federal Student Aid and private funding.
  • Provide information on financial aid program requirements, application procedures, and student rights and responsibilities.
  • Review financial aid applications, forms, and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
  • Review ISIR (Institutional Student Information Record) results and ensure accuracy of award data in Campus Nexus and Campus Ivy Core systems.
  • Complete verification of ISIR information to determine eligibility.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and records.
  • Provide entrance and exit counseling to prospective and current students.
  • Respond to student and parent inquiries, offering guidance on financial aid questions.
  • Maintain complete and accurate files and paperwork.
  • Collaborate with Admissions, Registrar, and other campus personnel.
  • Maintain professional relationships with vendors and partners.
  • Stay current on financial aid laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Participate in financial aid training, meetings, and events as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of Federal Student Aid programs and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of Veteran Benefit programs preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and basic office equipment.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and solve problems resourcefully.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, and the public.
  • Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and internet use.
  • Not in default on any student loans; ability to obtain a Federal Student Aid token.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including holidays, evenings, and weekends.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent (required).
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of Financial Aid experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Campus Nexus and/or Campus Ivy Core systems preferred.

Pay

Salary starts at $45,000 annually; negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
