About the role

The Financial Aid & Scholarships (FAS) Office is committed to helping students achieve their educational goals by providing effective and meaningful financial aid assistance. FAS is responsible for processing financial aid applications, administrating various financial aid programs, and providing financial aid counseling to students and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Process scholarship awards to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with applicable federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations.
  • Provide customer service and guidance to students, families, and campus partners regarding scholarship opportunities, eligibility, and related processes.
  • Serve as point-of-contact for indepth scholarship questions.
  • Responsible for reviewing and completing quality controls related to scholarship and financial aid administration.
  • Maintain and apply knowledge of federal, state, NCAA, and institutional rules and regulations regarding the administration of scholarships and financial aid.
  • Monitor federal, state, NCAA, and institutional aid administration updates for impact to processing and/or customer service provided.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to supervisor regarding scholarship and related policies and procedures to help develop and maintain best business practices.
  • Assist in documentation of scholarship policy and procedures to include step-by-step training guides.
  • Provide training related to scholarship processes for coworkers and colleagues.
  • Participate in outreach initiatives that promote awareness of scholarships and other forms of financial assistance.
  • Assist with creation of presentations.
  • Conduct presentations as assigned.
  • Assist with officewide tasks such as aid adjustments and customer service inquiries during peak times.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in related field, three years in student services or related roles. Equivalent education, training, experience accepted.
  • Maintain good standing on federal student loans, grant NSLDS access for hire & continued employment.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial aid processes, policies, and procedures or ability to quickly assimilate.
  • Ability to problem solve, multitask, and organize in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively. Develops and maintains effective working relationships.
