Financial Advisor (Training Provided)
About the role
Northwestern Mutual seeks a Financial Advisor to join our Midtown Manhattan offices. This opportunity is open to individuals seeking to begin a career in financial services, including recent college graduates, experienced candidates, and career-changers. You will prospect for clients and maintain ongoing relationships with individuals, families, and businesses to offer a diverse portfolio of financial products and services—including financial planning, investment strategies, risk management, and wealth management for high-net-worth clients. As the primary contact for clients, you will have access to an experienced team of financial and investment specialists and office support to assist in service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Business Development/Sales: establishing relationships with new clients through leads, referrals, and calls
- Meeting with clients to discuss financial planning, including life insurance and investment management
- Delivery of customized financial plans to help clients achieve their financial goals
- Day-to-day client relationship management and financial advisory
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience in a client/customer-facing role (includes sales, client/investor relations, customer service, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Interest in the Financial Services sector
- Must live within commuting distance of our Midtown Manhattan office or be able to relocate to the NYC metro area prior to start
Training & Licensing
Northwestern Mutual sponsors licensing for Financial Advisors, including the SIE, Series 6, and Series 63. No prior Financial Advisor experience is needed, as our award-winning training program provides everything required to succeed in this career.
Schedule
This position starts out onsite at our Midtown Manhattan offices, Monday – Friday, during regular business hours.
Pay
100% Commission – Average advisor annual earnings of $61K–$119K (based on 2018–2023 company average for representatives in the first 3 years).
