About the Role

The Financial Advisor, Everyday Steward Division, is responsible for securing, managing and enhancing client relationships, integrating each client’s financial information to develop and implement customized financial plans. This position leverages the division’s client service model to enhance efficiencies and deliver high-quality financial planning and investment management services in a timely, accurate manner.

Responsibilities

  • Create and seize business development opportunities while enhancing the company’s professional presence and image within the community and your sphere of influence.
  • Convert qualified prospects into clients.
  • Diagnose client needs to develop and implement customized financial plans consistent with those needs.
  • Integrate the financial planning philosophy and biblical principles upon which Blue Trust serves its clients.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of clients' financial information in accordance with the Everyday Steward service model to ensure client goals and objectives are being met.
  • Provide excellent service, support, and financial guidance based on Blue Trust’s financial planning philosophy and biblical principles.
  • Communicate and interface with the broader team to ensure adherence to all applicable processes and procedures.
  • Periodically review client base, facilitating inter-company transfers if needed, to ensure clients are served in the division best suited to meet their needs.
  • Manage an Everyday Steward client base, delivering new financial plans and investment management services to new clients and ongoing services and plan updates to existing clients.
  • Adapt communication style to ensure productive interaction with team members and clients.
  • Build organizational capacity by understanding and adhering to the Division’s workflows and processes to support profitability goals.
  • Increase knowledge of Blue Trust’s financial planning philosophy and biblical principles through scripture memory and integration into client counsel.
  • Hold self-accountable to the Division’s Advisor metrics.
  • Work with the broader team to initiate client meetings, follow up on meetings, and respond to client inquiries regarding actions taken to accomplish goals.
  • Positively contribute to a healthy, productive, continually learning work culture.
  • Integrate biblical principles in day-to-day behavior, exhibiting integrity and strong moral character.
  • Approach work, interactions, and relationships in a manner consistent with the Company’s Core Values.
  • Maintain computer literacy and knowledge of specialized office programs, including eMoney, Salesforce (CRM), Orion, and others.
  • Adhere to the highest Compliance standards, including Human Resources guidelines, Compliance policies, professional designation standards, and industry regulatory standards.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of Company’s Everyday Steward Advisor Test.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of both the Old and New Testaments of the Bible with scriptural references to money and finances, and the ability to apply and integrate this knowledge into client counsel.
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify complex financial issues.
  • Desire to serve clients and co-workers with excellence.
  • Aptitude and passion for learning new things with a strong work ethic.
  • Proven technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive planning and responsiveness to urgent needs.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field; a Master’s degree in the same fields is preferred.
  • Prior experience as a (Sr.) Financial Planner or Financial Advisor is preferred.
  • Certified Financial Planner designation, CPA, or CFA is preferred.
  • Financial Advisors are required to obtain the Certified Financial Planner and Kingdom Advisor designations within 2 years of assuming their position.

Pay

A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $85,000 to $120,000 per year with benefits. The range is specifically related to the cost of labor for the Chicago office and may be modified in the future. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, applicant’s skills, and prior relevant experience, as well as certain degrees and certifications.
