Finance Transformation Manager, Accounting, Tools, Entities, Automation, and Management Reporting (ATEAM)
Amazon is seeking a Finance Transformation Manager to join the Accounting, Tools, Entities, Automation, and Management Reporting (ATEAM) team. This role contributes to the launch of automation initiatives across the global Accounting organization, focusing on process improvement, month-end close acceleration, automation, AI scaling, and technology.
About the role
This position supports the implementation of accounting technology automation solutions to drive process improvement, reduce manual effort, and enhance financial controllership. The role requires interpreting accounting requirements and transforming them into technical solutions with support from technical partners. The Finance Transformation Manager will collaborate with stakeholders from accounting, business, finance, and technical teams to deliver scalable solutions to complex problems in a fast-paced global environment.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to influence automation design and implementation with financial best practices.
- Gather and document detailed functional accounting requirements and ensure delivery of technical deliverables.
- Define a project plan and critically identify, evaluate, and communicate potential risks and obstacles early in the project lifecycle.
- Define and execute pre-launch user acceptance testing and lead the automation launch readiness assessment.
- Lead projects to reduce manual effort and improve process efficiency while maintaining financial control.
- Streamline program delivery across the accounting organization by standardizing project communications, execution, and documentation for consistent, scalable global processes.
- Dive deep into Accounting customer problem statements to analyze and identify automation opportunities and process optimization.
- Partner with technical teams to deliver globally impacting automation solutions.
- Deliver accounting requirements to business and technical teams.
- Facilitate and review user acceptance testing.
- Communicate program updates to relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in finance or a related analytical field.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Experience delivering results for large, cross-functional initiatives/projects.
- Experience creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
- Project management experience, including resource planning, managing schedules, reporting project status, and prioritizing tasks.
Preferred Skills
- CPA certification.
- Experience communicating complex information and solutions to senior stakeholders and influencing decisions.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management experience.
- Experience in a finance role leading a project or program and partnering with multiple stakeholders within a business.
- Experience troubleshooting problems and offering solutions to streamline complex challenges.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
