About the role

The Finance & Planning Manager, based in Dallas, TX, will report to the VP of Planning & Treasurer. This position leads planning and finance support for all company assets (domestic and international), manages a team of analysts, and provides senior management and the Board of Directors with decision-making tools.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and refine the company’s three-statement corporate model and lead the team responsible for month-end forecasting cycles and monthly financial reporting packages, including pro forma financial statements, liquidity outlooks, and asset-level free cash flow forecasts.
  • Coordinate with domestic and international business units to understand operational assumptions and risk factors (e.g., production data, capital plans, operating costs).
  • Develop long-term financial statements and forecasts on a regular basis.
  • Perform financial scenario analyses under various price cases and operational assumptions.
  • Model and analyze the impact on capital structure from contemplated acquisitions, divestitures, and/or refinancings.
  • Perform ad hoc financial analyses for senior management, lenders, and third-party requests.
  • Lead and support the company’s commodities risk management and hedging function, partnering with senior management to develop and execute the hedging strategy.
  • Structure and evaluate financial derivatives (e.g., swaps, options, collars) to hedge commodity price exposure across crude oil, natural gas, and NGLs.

Requirements

  • University degree with concentration in Finance, Accounting, Economics, and/or Energy Management.
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience, including team leadership or management responsibility.
  • Extensive financial modeling experience in MS Excel.
  • Oil & Gas operational knowledge; direct commodities market and hedging experience strongly preferred.

Skills

  • Financial modeling expertise (MS Excel).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of Finance and Accounting.
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and applications (a plus).
  • Working knowledge of SAP/BPC Financial Planning software (a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of commodities markets and hedging strategies.
  • Experience with financial derivatives (swaps, options, collars).
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team.
  • Ability to work in an integrated, multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Detail-oriented.
