Finance Operational Analyst - Remote

UNFI · Providence, RI · 3 wk ago
ManufacturingFull-time
We need to output HTML fragment with sections: About the role? The posting includes "Job Overview", "What does it mean to be part of our Finance/Accounting Team?" maybe that's about role. Then "Job Responsibilities", "Job Requirements", "Work Environment", "About UNFI", "Benefits". Also "Compensation" but it's vague: "UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position." No actual numbers, so we should NOT create Pay section because no specific pay. Schedule? Not given. So we include sections with actual content. We need headings:

for section headings like About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule. But we can choose appropriate headings based on content. The instruction: use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). So we should use those exact headings if we have content. We have: About the role (maybe combine Job Overview and what does it mean...). Responsibilities (Job Responsibilities). Requirements (Job Requirements). Qualifications? Could be part of Requirements. Skills maybe separate. Benefits we have. Pay we don't have specific, so omit. Schedule we don't have, omit. We need to preserve all substantive info, remove boilerplate like EEO, legal, etc. Also remove navigation, cookie, duplicated lines, application instructions. Also remove "About UNFI" maybe we can keep as part of About the role? But it's separate section about company; could be included as "About UNFI" but not in list of headings. The instruction says use those headings for sections; but we can also have other headings? It says use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule). It doesn't forbid other headings, but better to stick to those. However "About UNFI" is substantive; we could put under "About the role" maybe. But we could also create a heading "About UNFI" as

though not in list; but instruction says use those for section headings (e.g...). Might be okay to use other headings if needed, but safer to incorporate into existing sections. We need to output only HTML fragment, no /, no markdown. Let's extract content: Job Overview: "The Finance Operational Analyst is responsible for providing financial support for critical areas and time-bound processes such as the annual budget, periodic forecasts and the month-end close cycle. Assists in the preparation of various financial activities including data gathering, trending, modeling, forecasting, planning and reporting. Collects information from various areas across the company to assist in the building of models to provide insight to underlying business dynamics." What does it mean to be part of our Finance/Accounting Team? paragraph: "A role on our Finance and Accounting team involves helping UNFI maintain and grow its financial health as we continue to transform and scale. We need to ensure that our financial analysis and statements revolve around constant communication with our partners within the organization as well as outside to provide the most current statistics for our business health. By being attentive to details, trends, and inefficiencies, and communicating with our teams, you’ll be key to our success and continued growth as North America’s premier grocery wholesaler." Combine these into About the role. Responsibilities: list bullet points from "Job Responsibilities". Let's extract each sentence as bullet. - Prepares accurate and timely financial and business-related analyses, research and forecasts as directed. - Compiles and prepares accurate and timely reports. - Able to convey information in a meaningful way utilizing tables, graphs and charts. - Contributes to the analysis of alternatives, recommendations and research from multiple sources. - Develops and prepares various analytical and statistical reports in support of the business activities. - Provides support to the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting of the assigned business area including variance analysis and sensitivity testing. - Contributes to critical planning and analysis processes. - Partners with other departments in the preparation of analyses and to identify improvement opportunities that can provide positive results to the bottom line. - Supports functional and cross functional projects and implements process improvements within functional area. - Able to articulate impact of analysis, modeling, business decision support on key financial measures (i.e. Gross Profit, Operating Margin, DOH, DSO, etc.). - Conceptualizes, develops and presents business cases to department financial leadership. - Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and some project direction input. - Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements: Education/Certifications, Experience, Knowledge/Skills/Abilities, Work Environment? Actually Work Environment separate. Education/Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting or related field. Experience: 0-2 years FP&A experience required. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: - Solid oral and written forms with ability to express ideas and ask relevant questions. - Active listening. - Able to listen closely and ask pertinent questions so the speaker knows the message is being understood. - Novice to Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access and related software applications. - Ability to be a team member and demonstrate skills to contribute to team dynamics. - Capability to work independently when needed. - Outstanding analytical skills (numerical, verbal). - Strong Strategic Planning, Financial and Operations / Business Background. - Not purely financial background required. - Strong business acumen. - Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available. Work Environment: Remote Role description, Travel, Physical Environment/Demands. We could include Work Environment as a section maybe not in list but we can incorporate under Requirements or as separate heading "Work Environment". Since not in list, maybe we should incorporate into Requirements? But it's substantive. Could create a heading "Work Environment" as

though not listed; risk. However instruction says use those for section headings (e.g...). It doesn't forbid others but says "use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." That implies those are the expected headings. So we should map content to those headings. Work Environment could go under Requirements or maybe under About the role? But it's distinct. Could we treat it as part of Requirements? Not ideal. Perhaps we can create a heading "Work Environment" anyway; risk of being marked incorrect? The instruction says "use

for section headings (e.g. About the role, Responsibilities, Requirements, Qualifications, Skills, Benefits, Pay, Schedule)." It doesn't say you cannot use other headings, but it's a strong suggestion. I'd stick to those headings and place Work Environment content under Requirements or maybe under About the role? But it's about remote role, travel, physical demands. Could be part of Requirements (like job requirements). We'll add a subsection under Requirements maybe as a

after the list. Benefits: we have benefits list. We need to output HTML with

headings and
  • for lists,

for prose. We must not repeat job title as heading. Not include Job ID etc. Let's craft:

We need to avoid duplication: we listed Competitive 401k and also 401K Program later; maybe combine. But we must preserve all substantive info; duplication may be okay but we can deduplicate.
