Key job responsibilities

  • Develop comprehensive financial bridges, narratives and strategic documents for executive leadership, covering monthly, quarterly, and annual planning processes
  • Build collaborative relationships across global teams via strategic financial guidance
  • Manage multiple time sensitive deliverables across a highly matrixed organization
  • Partner with senior leadership to develop compelling narratives that influence strategic business decisions and policy development

A day in the life

Your days are a dynamic blend of deep financial analysis, strategic collaboration, and time spent mastering AI tools and leveraging them to multiply your impact. You'll build sophisticated models, translate complex data into compelling narratives for executives, and partner across teams to drive business decisions. Working with advanced financial systems, you'll tackle unique challenges requiring creativity, precision, and comfort with ambiguity—whether developing quarterly financial bridges, conducting scenario analyses, or identifying process improvements. Throughout it all, you'll leverage your analytical rigor and relationship-building skills to deliver insights that directly influence Amazon's decisions and performance.

About the team

We are a collaborative and innovative finance team dedicated to understanding and supporting Amazon's Global Tax Organization. We help Amazon leaders make well-informed decisions about financial objectives, develop and monitor policy, and supports long-term tax and policy initiatives. Our team thrives on collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to driving business performance through insights and clear financial guidance.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
  • MBA, or CPA
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
