Finance Manager, Sub Same Day Operations Finance
About the role
The Sub Same Day Finance team covers a portfolio of high-growth businesses with unique fulfillment and operational capabilities beyond core fulfillment, such as Grocery, Pharmacy, and HazMat. Our Finance teams partner closely with our operations teams to influence the strategic direction of the business, drive operational excellence, and make sound investment and expansion decisions, with the primary goal of continuously improving the customer experience while driving long-term profitability for our portfolio of businesses.
Responsibilities
- Leverage financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, drive improvements, and influence leaders throughout Amazon
- Deliver financial reporting/planning working across stakeholders to understand input drivers, validate reporting integrity, and influence strategic decision-making and action plans
- Make thoughtful judgement calls in ambiguous environments where data may be scarce or difficult to procure. Use active listening skills and communicate data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner. Adjust style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly
- Participates in hiring, developing, and mentoring peers and team members
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 5+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
Qualifications
- MBA, or CPA preferred
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
