Finance Manager, SPS Finance
About the role
The Amazon's World-Wide Fulfillment By Amazon (WW FBA) organization is seeking a Finance Manager to partner with the Amazon Warehousing & Distribution (AWD) product, engineering, and program leadership team. This role requires an innovative, results-oriented, and strategic individual who can navigate ambiguity and challenge the status quo, supporting a critical cost and seller-experience function.
Responsibilities
Partner with AWD's product and tech leadership as a strategic finance advisor, providing financial insights that inform product roadmaps, policy decisions, and investment priorities.
Own financial reporting for the AWD business area. Understand input drivers and validate data integrity to influence strategic decision-making and long-range planning.
Leverage data to surface disruptive ideas and deliver actionable guidance to business leaders.
Drive the end-to-end financial planning (OP1/OP2), forecasting, and month-end close processes for AWD's P&L.
Prioritize Controllership by identifying, resolving, or providing guidance on complex data integrity issues.
Strengthen controls to mitigate financial risk and reinforce frugality.
Communicate data clearly, concisely, and unambiguously—both written and verbal. Adapt style across audiences to articulate complex finance issues with precision.
Build and deliver WBR/MBR/QBR financial narratives for senior leadership, translating complex operational and financial data into actionable insights.
Influence cross-functional partners (Operations Finance, Accounting, FBA business teams) to drive alignment on financial treatment, reserves, and cost allocation.
Requirements
5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience.
6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience.
6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience.
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science).
Qualifications
6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience.
6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).
MBA, or CPA.
Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results.
