About the role

The R2L Sub Same Day (SSD) Delivery Finance team is looking for a proactive Finance Manager with a can-do approach and record of delivering results. This team is responsible for last mile transportation spend across North America, partnering closely with operations teams to influence strategic direction, drive operations excellence, and make sound investment and expansion decisions with the primary goal of continuously improving the customer experience while driving long-term profitability.

The Finance Manager is responsible for key forecasting and reconciliation processes, developing and implementing a long range business plan, developing key processes around the organization's goals, and leading financial analyses of major business events. This role partners closely with a broad range of global finance and business leaders across tech and operations teams to design, develop, and maintain performance measurements and reports on strategic input drivers to continuously improve the economics of the business.

The successful candidate will influence business owners, support thoughtful decision-making, and adapt to a rapidly-evolving environment. They collaborate with executives and various business units across Amazon, bringing excellent verbal and written communication skills. Key job responsibilities

  • Identifies basic control risks, evaluates impact, proposes changes, and implements improvements to remediate gaps
  • Delivers weekly/monthly financial close
  • Uses financial systems and advanced MS Excel functions to work with large data sets
  • Works with a variety of data sources; identifies incomplete or inaccurate data, identifies root causes of data issues, escalates discrepancies, fixes data where possible or partners to deliver a solution
  • Communicates data (both written and verbal) in a clear, concise, and unambiguous manner; adjusts style for various audiences to articulate complex finance issues clearly
  • Identifies and implements solutions to resolve, improve, automate, standardize, or simplify finance processes

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • 5+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
  • 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
  • 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
  • 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
  • MBA or CPA
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

Pay

  • USA, NY, New York: $104,900.00 - $179,500.00 USD annually
  • USA, TN, Nashville: $85,900.00 - $146,900.00 USD annually
  • USA, TX, Irving: $95,400.00 - $163,200.00 USD annually
  • USA, VA, Arlington: $95,400.00 - $163,200.00 USD annually
  • USA, WA, Bellevue: $95,400.00 - $163,200.00 USD annually
