About the role
The Finance Manager-in-Training (MIT) program is designed to develop exceptional leadership and management skills in a well-developed environment. Through hands-on training, departmental rotations, and mentorship, the MIT will gain comprehensive knowledge of Finance, team leadership, and both internal and external communication. This program aims to prepare candidates for a future Assistant Manager role by fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, and a deep understanding of the Finance department in a luxury hotel.
To learn to prepare and analyze financial reports and maintain accounting records for the Residences and Hotel at Four Seasons Hotel & Residence New York Downtown with the assistance of the Finance Team.
Responsibilities
- Support daily accounting operations, including general ledger, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cashiering functions.
- Assist with preparing and analyzing financial reports and maintaining accurate accounting records.
- Reconcile daily revenue transactions, deposits, credit card payments, and intercompany accounts.
- Help maintain and reconcile operating, reserve, and investment bank accounts.
- Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Monitor assessments, deposits, and delinquent accounts, and assist with collections processes.
- Participate in audits and financial reviews as required.
- Assist with annual budgeting and financial forecasting activities.
- Support residential owners and staff with account inquiries and financial-related requests.
- Participate in physical inventory counts and other finance projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field (preferred)
- Proven exceptional performance in your current role, demonstrating leadership potential.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with proficiency in English.
- High attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive mindset.
- Computer literacy to include MS Word, Excel, and ability to use e-mail and the Internet.

Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000
