Job Responsibilities

  • Captures the month-end close process and analyzes variances against projections and plans.
  • Provides weekly and monthly analyses of food, labor, and direct cost productivity, identifying underperforming locations.
  • Conducts root cause analysis of revenue, operating costs, and Earnings Before Interest and Taxes (EBIT) variances compared to plans and projections.
  • Trains and coaches base unit bookkeepers on financial reporting systems, interpreting financial reports, and fulfilling their finance and accounting responsibilities.
  • Supports operations teams in driving profitable growth through productivity and revenue expansion.
  • Ensures compliance with contract results, monitors critical metrics, and participates in contract performance reviews.
  • Coordinates the monthly projection process, supports operations managers, and analyzes financial trends.
  • Participates in the monthly planning process, setting targets, analyzing monthly spreads, and assisting with budget presentations.
  • Develops and submits monthly invoices for business unit contracts, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
  • Manages accounts receivable collections, inventory, and capital expenditure controls to enhance free cash flow.
  • Assists with internal audit support and government audits, tracking modifications and reporting on financial data.
  • Provides senior management with historical, current, and future financial and statistical data through ad hoc reports.

Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of hands-on accounting/finance experience with progressive analytical responsibilities.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance/accounting, with an MBA or relevant coursework preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong judgment, and the ability to learn quickly.
  • The ability to adapt to new situations, work with senior management, and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Detailed orientation, exceptional organizational skills, and the capability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong proficiency in spreadsheet and database software, particularly Excel.
