About the role
Amazon is seeking an experienced candidate to join the Finance Operations, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group as a Finance Manager in our Amazon HQ2 (Arlington, VA) location. This role will work closely with the Global Real Estate & Facilities (GREF) Portfolio Strategy and Transactions teams.
Responsibilities
- Gathering, evaluating, and validating real estate data, ensuring correctness and completeness
- Develop robust financial models to evaluate new business initiatives, investments, and strategic opportunities
- Conduct detailed scenario and sensitivity analyses to identify key financial drivers and assess potential risks and returns, specifically NPV, ROI, and cash flow analyses to support the production of strategy papers
- Leverage data visualization tools to effectively communicate complex financial information to cross-functional stakeholders
- Analyze historical trends and market factors to build detailed financial projections, identifying key variances and trends
- Collaborate with corporate development, M&A, and other strategic teams to evaluate potential transactions, partnerships, and other initiatives
- Conduct thorough due diligence, valuation analysis, and transaction modeling to support investment and portfolio management decisions
- Support development of new tools, reports, and processes for the team
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
- 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause, and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
