Key job responsibilities
- Manage and report on business performance, including building long-range financial forecasts that integrate plan data with actuals to track progress against commitments
- Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities to drive innovative solutions, productivity, and controllership for core central Sustainability programs
- Lead monthly and quarterly reviews with VP+ stakeholders, providing clear narratives on financial performance, risks, and opportunities
- Design and maintain controllership mechanisms for centralized global initiatives
- Develop scalable capital allocation frameworks to evaluate and prioritize investment decisions
- Drive free cash flow optimization by identifying cost efficiencies and improving financial processes
- Design and enforce financial policies and controls that protect the integrity of Amazon's financial records and increase organizational efficiency
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
- 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
- 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
