Key job responsibilities
- Own service-level P&L across a portfolio of AWS services, including variance analysis and executive-ready commentary for WBR/MBR/QBR and quarterly planning reviews
- Communicate financial and business results to senior leaders; going beyond the “what happened”, and focusing on the “why?” and "what can we do about it?"
- Collaborate with finance and business leaders — including GMs, PMs, and Engineers — to provide analytical support for strategic decisions and drive alignment across teams
- Identify and quantify Risks & Opportunities, proactively surfacing trends and anomalies (see around corners)
- Perform deep dive analyses to develop recommendations that drive profitability, topline, and efficiency, and support pricing decisions and go-to-market initiatives
- Identify opportunities for process and systems improvements, including automation and coordination with upstream and downstream organizations
- Ensure a high level of financial controllership, maintaining data integrity
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance) experience
- 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
- 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
Preferred Qualifications
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience
- 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience
- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
