About the role

Amazon Freight Finance is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Finance Manager to join its Transportation Finance team. This role will have heavy impact and high visibility to the long-term strategy for the business, requiring strong partnership with the Operations teams as well as Finance, Accounting and Technology.

Responsibilities

  • Own Shipper level Margin Analysis and partner with Sales, Pricing and other teams to address issues in margin.

  • Perform the Cost dive deep in partnership with Cost Planning and Execution team and build template to show weekly, monthly and YTD performance including commentary for leadership reviews

  • Partner with Cross Functional teams on cost allocation and its methodology to ensure accurate financial reporting

  • Own E2E CAPEX planning for Truck Load and Less-Than Truck Load business through building of ROI, FCF, PBP, and IRR models and supporting the CAR approval.

  • Identify opportunities to resolve defects proactively and improve, scale, or simplify finance tools across teams and organizations.

  • Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams and partner finance teams to ensure seamless integration of the LTL plan into the overall Worldwide Operations and Amazon Inbound Transportation’s financial plans.

  • Foster strong communication and coordination to drive alignment across the organization.

  • Have backbone, disagree and commit to foster constructive dialogues, harmonize conflicting views, resolve issues, and drive decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

  • 3+ years of finance experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field, or a CPA and experience or equivalent experience in finance roles

  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results

  • Experience in a finance role including partnering with a variety of stakeholders across the business, or experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)

  • Experience working with Excel and large-scale data mining and reporting tools such as Python, SQL, or Tableau, or experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. SQL, MS Power Query, Python)

  • Experience building and managing financial models for business forecasting and problem solving

  • 5+ years of implementing metric-based strategies utilizing continuous improvement concepts experience
