About the role
Travelzoo is seeking a Finance Director to join our dynamic finance team in New York.
Responsibilities
- Absorb and assist with quarterly closings, financial statement consolidations and generate accurate and reliable financial reports and analysis
- Work closely with the Finance team, Legal team and external auditors, providing documentation requested and answering all project-specific financial questions
- Monitor tax filing timing and requirements and prepare tax deliverables to external tax partners as well as other tax compliance filings
- Ensure compliance with SOX and internal controls, managing compliance and tax risks
- Analyze financial statements and variances to budget
- Assist with SEC filings
Requirements
- Education: Degree educated professional with 10+ years experience in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience: Professional experience at a publicly traded U.S. based company required; experience working at a SPAC is a plus
- Technology: Familiar with major accounting system applications and databases (Oracle, SAP, etc.)
- Software: Highly proficient in Workiva, Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
