Finance Director

About the role

The Piedmont Triad Regional Council (PTRC) is seeking a Finance Director to plan and organize the system of grants management and compliance. The ideal candidate should have expertise in applying Office of Management and Budget uniform guidance, a strong understanding of accounting and budgeting principles, and the ability to manage and supervise finance professionals.

Responsibilities

• Apply Office of Management and Budget uniform guidance with emphasis on administrative requirements and cost principles
• Develop and interpret financial reports to the Board of Delegates, governing bodies, and state and federal agencies
• Supervise the development and implementation of accounting systems and procedures
• Foster teamwork and maintain harmonious working relationships within the Finance Department
• Exercise sound professional and administrative judgment

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business finance, public administration, or related field
• Career-level experience in finance administration, including significant supervisory experience of finance professionals
• Current CPA candidate (Certified Public Accountant)

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of Office of Management and Budget Uniform Guidance
• Thorough understanding of general laws and administrative policies governing municipal financial practices and procedures
• Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
• Ability to prepare and present complex, detailed fiscal reports
• Experience in planning, organizing, and directing the work of subordinate employees
