Finance - Corporate FP&A, Assistant Vice President
About the role
Blackstone is the world’s largest alternative asset manager, seeking to deliver compelling returns for institutional and individual investors by strengthening the companies in which the firm invests. The Global Financial Planning & Analysis Group performs analyses and financial reporting of Firmwide results, originates and executes strategic Firm initiatives, and works closely with Blackstone management to perform corporate finance analyses.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, consolidate, and analyze Blackstone’s financial forecast and weekly reporting for senior management
- Prepare, collect, consolidate, and analyze Blackstone’s financial results as part of the quarterly earnings process
- Conduct financial analysis on Blackstone’s business units and corporate groups
- Perform financial modeling and valuation analysis
- Draft presentations and memorandums for senior management
- Partner with Business Finance and Investor Relations teams for client and investor meetings and inquiries
- Implement new processes and systems to create operational efficiencies and reporting enhancements
- Prepare quarterly board and audit committee packages, analyst call materials, and Senior Managing Director (SMD) presentations
- Aid in the preparation of strategic plans, budgets, and new business analyses
- Conduct research on competitors’ earnings and financial analyses
- Provide analysis and support to the CFO and management on an ad hoc basis
- Lead and support special projects in alignment with Blackstone’s businesses
Qualifications
- 6+ years of related experience
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
- Strong academic record
- FP&A, management reporting, or advisory services experience preferred
- Strong analytical, financial modeling, and quantitative skills
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; experience with Essbase, Anaplan, or Tableau a plus
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, handling multiple projects while prioritizing deliverables and meeting deadlines
- Works effectively in a team environment; proactive and takes initiative
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
- Desire to work in an entrepreneurial environment with a positive attitude
- Highly motivated and enthusiastic
- Effective at building professional relationships with internal and external counterparties
Pay
Expected annual base salary range: $135,000 - $200,000. Actual base salary within that range will be determined by several components including but not limited to the individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. For roles located outside of the US, salary bands will follow a separate compensation process based on local market comparables.
