Finance Controller

Main Tasks And Responsibilities

• Audit and pay bills, ensuring all payments are processed promptly.
• Run payroll for all employees regularly.
• Set up and manage payroll for new employees.
• Maintain worker's compensation insurance and prepare for audits.
• Prepare and organize financial books and records for annual tax filing and audit.
• Create and manage credit card payments to pay down outstanding balances.
• Ensure contractor W-9 forms are on file for 1099 form preparation.
• Create and manage weekly financial reports for transparency.
• Collaborate with the PR team to ensure quality and timely donation receipts.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of payroll systems, financial reporting, and tax filing procedures.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Proficiency in accounting software and digital filing systems.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
• High level of integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial information.
• Agree with the core values and statement of faith for Chazak Rescue.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes or software as needed.

Payments and Compliance

• Coordinate annual audits and tax filings.
• Manage worker's compensation audits.
• Ensure smooth management of payroll and billing.

Compensation and Hiring Process

We cannot offer this as an immediate paid position. There is currently no budget for this position. We are continuing our search with the understanding that a potential hire would either need to:

• Wait to start until funding is available,
• Raise their own support,
• Work as a volunteer until funding is available.

We are open to making a hire with the understanding of a delayed start date.
