Summary:
This role is responsible for strategic planning and leading strategic business transformation projects within finance. This role reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
Responsibilities
- Lead strategic business transformation projects within the finance function.
- As needed, develop innovative finance and operational metrics to enhance profitability and efficiency.
- Translate corporate strategies into actionable business plans and financial forecasts.
- Design and implement new finance organizational structures to support evolving business needs.
- Oversee the creation of financial outlooks and gap closure plans to adapt to shifting market dynamics.
- Collaborate with senior management to align financial strategies with long-term business goals.
- Analyze financial data to inform and improve company-wide decision-making processes.
- Collaborate with the executive management team to translate corporate strategy into actionable and financially viable business plans.
- Lead organizational restructuring efforts from a financial perspective, optimizing for efficiency and profitability.
- Engage with the board of directors and investor relations to communicate financial strategy, performance, and outlook.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in finance, with a strong background in FP&A, strategic planning, and corporate finance.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in leading finance teams and managing large-scale financial projects within a large, complex organization.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, financial management, and business growth.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards, financial procedures, and contract research organization (CRO) operations is advantageous.
- Willingness to engage in continuous learning and development, as evidenced by completion of executive coaching programs or similar initiatives.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong leadership qualities with experience in executive team collaboration and cross-functional team leadership.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with stakeholders and team members.
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, strategic planning, and financial analysis.
- Ability to develop and present financial reports, forecasts, and strategic plans to executive management and the board of directors.
- Expertise in financial systems, such as HFM Hyperion, and the ability to manage complex financial transactions.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement and driving results.
