Key Responsibilities
- Manage insurance and third-party payer collections.
- Submit insurance claims and ensure accurate billing.
- Review insurance payments and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Post payments, adjustments, and refunds within the billing system.
- Maintain accurate account documentation and follow-up activities.
- Review insurance correspondence and resolve account issues.
- Verify revenue codes and insurance coverage.
- Assist the Utilization Management team with insurance approvals as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams to support timely reimbursement and client financial responsibility.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required.
- An associate's degree in healthcare or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in medical billing, insurance collections, or healthcare accounts receivable required.
- A working knowledge of commercial insurance, government payers, and managed care contracts required.
- A strong attention to detail with excellent organization, problem-solving, and communication skills.
