About The Role
As Finance Business Partner, you will lead and manage all aspects of financial reporting and operations for Macro client accounts, ensuring service delivery aligns with internal and external expectations and contractual requirements. You will ensure accurate financial and non-financial reports are completed at regular intervals and on an ad-hoc basis. You will instil commercial acumen throughout the client service team and work closely with the Operational and Commercial Teams to better understand contract performance and maximise profitability. This role requires strong control, communication, and technical skills.
This is a fixed-term position for one year, providing maternity cover.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with and report financial results to operational colleagues and functional leads, including:
- Annual revenue and capital budgets for clients and Macro.
- Periodic full-year forecasts, including monthly rolling forecasts and quarterly deep-dive updates.
- Actual vs. budget/forecast reporting and associated commentary.
- Bridge reports highlighting key variances and identifying driving factors.
- Ad hoc reports as required.
- Client planning, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring contractual compliance and Macro profitability.
- Agreeing client budgets and cost reconciliations, following good contract governance practices.
- Oversee client invoices, working closely with the Shared Services Team to ensure timely and accurate processing.
- Ensure client contracts maintain a positive cash position, minimising aged debtor positions and accrued income through weekly reviews with operational colleagues.
- Support retenders, rebids, extensions, and scope changes for clients as required.
- Ensure reports are provided to clients in accordance with agreed formats and timeframes.
- Maintain and administer the agreed commercial framework for each contract, including:
- Pricing for additional/new work in line with the agreed schedule of rates.
- Applying annual uplifts.
- Monitoring performance reward and penalty schemes.
- Tracking and monitoring changes in scope.
- Ensure supply chain contracts follow purchase ordering, goods receipting, and agreed sign-off procedures.
- Develop and maintain Financial Local Operating Procedures that align with contract requirements.
- Drive and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by challenging current practices, enhancing processes, improving reporting capabilities, and minimising duplication and manual rework.
- Ensure adherence to month-end, year-end, and budget timetables.
- Attend regular meetings with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining strong working relationships and contributing where required.
- Lead and oversee a small team, ensuring effective planning, coordination, and timely delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial activities and reporting requirements.
Requirements
- A finance qualification, preferably ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent, with a minimum of two years’ post-qualification experience.
- Significant experience in a similar role.
- Management experience in a similar role, with the ability to act inclusively.
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to delegate effectively while also being hands-on.

Preferred Qualifications
- A strong understanding of financial databases and accounting (ERP) systems.
- Advanced Excel skills, including experience with macros.
