Finance Business Partner
About the role
The Finance Business Partner is a critical resource for the Executive Leadership Team at Discovery Behavioral Health, deeply integrated into division operations alongside the assigned Division President. The role supports three key themes: Access to Care, High Performance Organization, and Quality of Care. The Division CFO drives the strategic plan through financial operations and process improvement initiatives to achieve the division's financial and quality goals.
This position reports directly to the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and operates within a matrix reporting structure, with accountability to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Division Presidents, and Corporate Experts.
Responsibilities
- Provide financial oversight of multiple behavioral health locations through operational support, financial direction, and labor management.
- Participate in Monthly Operating Reviews with DBH Senior Management, offering explanations and insights for assigned divisions/facilities.
- Interpret financial statements and perform standard financial analysis and statistical calculations to identify trends and manage KPIs.
- Partner with Divisional Presidents to identify, build, and refine KPIs and dashboards.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure facilities adhere to Group Purchasing contract requirements and proper purchasing approvals.
- Build and maintain complex Excel models to analyze business results, budgets, forecasts, and ad-hoc analytical requests.
- Drive operations through analytics, project facilitation, and financial education for facility leaders.
- Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data, including service line analysis.
- Develop and use decision support tools to proactively identify financial, operational, and business concerns and opportunities.
- Partner with Financial Planning and Analysis to complete forecasting and budgeting for the assigned division, ensuring accuracy for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assess relevant information from QoE statements and related materials, bridging financial results to the pro forma model.
- Provide operational insights for M&A, de novo, expansion, or other growth activities, including staffing and resourcing.
- Review managed care contracting and business development activities to maximize net revenue value.
- Maintain relationships and visit assigned facilities (virtually or in-person) to review financial operations and provide feedback to Facility CEOs and Division Presidents.
- Work professionally with sensitive, proprietary data while maintaining confidentiality.
- Maintain industry knowledge and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, accounting, finance, or a related field (required).
- CPA, MBA, or related graduate degree (preferred).
- Previous multisite healthcare/behavioral healthcare experience (strongly preferred).
- 7+ years of relevant progressive experience, including proven ownership of financial/operational outcomes.
- Strong technical understanding of accounting principles and ability to interpret financial statements.
- Demonstrated leadership and teamwork with a high level of emotional intelligence.
- Ability to assess situations, identify issues/problems, and prioritize duties.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with NetSuite and Oracle Essbase/NSPB (preferred).

Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Friday (exempt).

Remote.
Pay
Pay Range: $120,000 – $165,000 annually.
