About the role

As a Finance & Business Operations (FBO) Financial Analyst II / Senior at APS, you provide the financial insights that help leaders make informed business decisions. Through budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and operational reporting, you help ensure resources are used effectively and business goals are achieved. Your work supports APS's ability to deliver reliable energy service while maintaining a strong financial foundation for the customers and communities we serve.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial and operational data to help business leaders make informed decisions and achieve strategic objectives.
• Support the development of budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans that align with business priorities.
• Monitor financial performance, identify trends and variances, and provide insights on key business drivers.
• Develop and maintain financial models, reports, and dashboards that support operational and financial decision-making.
• Partner with business units on planning initiatives and provide financial guidance on projects and operational activities.
• Communicate financial results and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and meaningful way.

Requirements

Finance & Business Operations (FBO) Financial Analyst II

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or related field.
• Two (2) years of directly related financial analysis, data analytics, or business operations experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of finance and economic analysis, business operations, or business planning.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) desirable.
• Strong research, data management, and effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) and database tools.

Finance & Business Operations (FBO) Financial Analyst Senior

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, or related field.
• Five (5) years of related experience in financial analysis or in a financial, data analytics, or business operations role in the utility or energy services industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of finance and economic analysis, business operations, or business planning.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong research, data management, and effective management communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.) and database tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or Master’s degree.
• Working knowledge of related analytical, financial, database, and/or business operations tools (e.g., Cognos, PowerPlant, Hyperion, Maximo, supply chain, and inventory systems).
• Directly related experience in the utility or energy services industry.
• Travel may be required.
