About the role
The Finance Associate II provides administrative support to the Finance department with a primary focus on Early Childhood Education and Camp programs at the YMCA Cape Cod, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
Responsibilities
- Process daily/monthly cash receipts and prepare bank deposits; review posted receipts for accuracy and ensure corrections if applicable.
- Process returned checks and bank drafts as needed.
- Accurately process all childcare and camp registrations in software and maintain billing files; verify registration files and communicate with parents to collect documentation.
- Update changes to billing files as needed.
- Administer timely and accurate billing for the childcare voucher system; serve as primary liaison to third-party agencies, updating registration changes as needed.
- Distribute timely and accurate accounts receivable reports to department directors and other relevant parties; communicate receivable notices weekly.
- Manage and ensure accurate and timely processing of all aspects related to bank draft information.
- Support the centralized financial aid processing system; work with directors to ensure accurate and timely processing of all financial aid applications.
- Process, track, and maintain recordkeeping for all refunds and credits in a timely manner.
- Process office petty cash account reconciliation and replenish as assigned.
- Assist with quarterly and year-end general ledger account and bank reconciliations; create journal entries as assigned.
- Respond in a friendly, efficient, and timely manner to all inquiries.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
- One year of bookkeeping experience.
- Experience in data entry with working knowledge of spreadsheets.
- Knowledge of general ledger and accounting functions preferred.
- Proficient in standard business software (Excel, Word, Outlook), business math, and data entry; Microsoft Office preferred.
- Experience managing multiple tasks effectively and efficiently.
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent human relation, organization, and communication skills.
