About the role

Own the applications behind critical upstream financial operations. This hands-on role supports and continuously improves the systems that power accounting, land, and financial operations in an upstream oil and gas environment. The ideal candidate is an applications professional with deep Quorum expertise who can connect business requirements, technology, and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Quorum ERP & Financial Applications
    • Serve as primary SME for Quorum Upstream ERP, with emphasis on Quorum Accounting functionality, configuration, administration, and support.
    • Administer, maintain, configure, troubleshoot, and support Quorum and the broader financial application portfolio.
    • Support applications including Quorum Accounting, Quorum Land, OpenInvoice, OpenTicket, 1099 Pro, Assent 143, M-Files, Unit 3, and EnergyLink.
    • Provide functional and technical guidance to users regarding Quorum transactions, workflows, processes, error messages, system capabilities, and reporting needs.
  • Business Analysis & Application Improvement
    • Partner with Accounting, Land Administration, IT, and other business teams to understand workflows, requirements, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
    • Gather, document, and translate business requirements into system configurations, enhancement requests, reporting needs, process improvements, or vendor support items.
    • Identify root causes of application issues and recommend solutions that improve system performance, process consistency, and the user experience.
    • Support special IT and business application projects aimed at improving financial, accounting, land, and operational business processes.
  • Application Support & User Enablement
    • Resolve application issues through the helpdesk process while documenting root cause, business impact, resolution steps, and reusable knowledge.
    • Develop and maintain documentation, training materials, job aids, and knowledge base articles.
    • Conduct end-user training and provide ongoing coaching to improve adoption, process consistency, and business-user self-sufficiency.
    • Assist with reporting needs by helping users understand available data, system capabilities, and appropriate reporting paths.
  • Testing, Upgrades & Application Governance
    • Coordinate testing, validation, and deployment of Quorum maintenance releases, enhancements, updates, and major version upgrades.
    • Ensure application changes and deployments comply with IT change-management standards.
    • Participate in system audits, user-access reviews, controls testing, and compliance-related activities as required.
    • Provide support for critical or business-impacting application issues that may occasionally occur outside normal business hours.
    • Perform other IT and business application support duties as assigned.
  • Supervision & Professional Development
    • Reports to the Director of Information and Technology.
    • Works closely with Accounting, Land Administration, IT, software vendors, consultants, and other business stakeholders.
    • Serves as a functional bridge between business users and technical resources, with significant ownership of the Quorum application environment.
    • Provides exposure to financial systems optimization, ERP upgrades, application governance, controls, reporting, and business-process improvement within an upstream oil and gas environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience administering, maintaining, configuring, and supporting the Quorum ERP software suite required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of oil and gas industry experience required.
  • Strong understanding of upstream oil and gas accounting processes and associated ERP workflows.
  • Experience supporting financial applications, accounting systems, land systems, invoice platforms, document-management systems, and related business applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as the functional bridge between business teams, IT, software vendors, consultants, and implementation partners.
  • Experience supporting system implementations, upgrades, enhancements, testing cycles, production issues, and ongoing application maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of IT change management, application lifecycle management, controls, and business-requirements documentation.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, including the ability to identify root causes and document clear, sustainable resolutions.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities across production support, projects, upgrades, enhancements, and business requests.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Motivated self-starter able to work independently and collaboratively with limited supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
