Finance Analyst III

About the role

THIS CLASSIFICATION PERFORMS ACCOUNTING, FINANCE, AND DEBT RELATED FUNCTIONS.

Responsibilities

• Perform the most difficult accounting and budgetary tasks.
• Review, develop and prepare the Citywide budget and monitoring reports.
• Maintain budgetary, revenue, cost, and other financial records.
• Process accounts payable and/or payroll.
• Aid in training and leading the work of other professional staff.
• Lead and/or supervise the work of subprofessional and/or clerical staff.
• Plan, analyze, and install modifications in financial systems.
• Monitor, recommend, and implement internal controls related to financial reporting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education (i.e., minimum completed units = 120 semester/180 quarter).
• Experience: Three years of full-time professional-level experience in accounting, auditing and/or internal controls, and/or developing, administering, and analyzing budgets.

Qualifications

• Additional qualifying professional experience may be substituted for education lacked on a year-for-year basis.
• One year of full-time experience = 30 semester/45 quarter college-level units.

Skills

• Ability to collect and analyze financial data for various purposes.
• Knowledge of financial statements preparation.
• Experience in reconciling and balancing accounts.
• Ability to provide information for policy, internal financial control recommendations, or business decisions.

Benefits
